Also, what happens to you when you lose what you use to identify yourself by (i.e. your career).

In the Woods by Tana French - This author actually just came out with her third book, but you should start with her first, In the Woods. She writes mysteries that are probably more literary than mystery, and her character development is something I haven't seen done quite so well. You should start with In the Woods, because her second book, The Likeness, follows one of the characters from In the Woods.

Geek Love by Katherine Dunn - one of my all time favorite books and a great book club pick. It's about circus freaks (literally) and when you strip away the freakishness, it has all the themes that you and I have experienced: sibling rivalry, trying to find your place in the world, acceptance, parents pushing their kids, etc.

Just a few suggestions! :)trishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10688001590373132381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1096311741032837853.post-56734401732706793102010-08-25T07:22:06.808-05:002010-08-25T07:22:06.808-05:00"Fath Like River" by Leif Enger...sooooo..."Fath Like River" by Leif Enger...soooooo good.Tracy P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05024680622161247417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1096311741032837853.post-44526254416867690252010-08-23T15:36:41.047-05:002010-08-23T15:36:41.047-05:00I have read a lot of the ones you suggested.
